American Airlines Charging for Checked Luggage
Rising oil prices, rising gas prices, increasing airfares and now we have to pay to check luggage?
Yes that’s right American Airlines announced this morning that as of next month they will begin to charge $15 to check your first bag. American Airlines said it is a decision made to combat the rising gas and oil prices. They feel that other airlines with follow suit.
What’s next, the flight crew walking down the isles expecting tips!
The fee does not apply to Americans Aadvantage Gold, Platinum and Executive Platinum members, So is American just taking it out on the rest of us, you decide.
Airlines are looking for ways to obtain additional revenues and are now charging for other aspects of a flight such as in-flight meals, movies/TV etc.
I personally see where this is going, since two carry on bags are permitted under a certain weight, it will be a battle for the overhead compartments and major delays boarding and departing the aircraft.
May 29, 2008. US Airways Charging for Peanuts!?!
That’s right, effective June 1, 2008 US Airways will begin charging for Peanuts. The airlines claimed that the peanuts were costing .03 per passenger. How much do you want to bet that US Airways will be charging a lot more than .03 cents a bag. I wonder if they will ad some type of detection device to make sure we don’t smuggle our own peanuts aboard!!! It’s getting ridiculous. I am just shaking my head, Sound off, how do you feel?
