Budget Travel for Today’s Economy

header_53.jpg

Budget Travel for Today’s Economy

Things are tough for everyone today, but that doesn’t mean you have to give up traveling! You just need to know where to look. If timing is not a concern, last minute deals and steals are a fabulous option. Planes, hotels, and resorts never want an empty spot, so they often offer low cost deals within the last week or so. Go to our travel booking website; www.vacationdeals247.com and in the bottom right hand corner sign up of our last minute Deals and Steals email  We will send you an email weekly with all the last minute travel deals.

Also, it is usually cheaper to book all your travel together on one website. You can save quite a bit of money by booking your air, hotel, and car at the same time.

Group Pricing

Another cost saving measure is to book with a group. Group pricing is always lower than a single fare. So, if you can get a group together (often as small as 10 or more), get in touch with us to get group pricing on a cruise or at a resort. You may also wish to check in with your personal “affinity group” – this can be alumni organizations, church groups, senior or rec center trips, or even local travel clubs.

Consider Cruising

With today’s gas prices, cruises are one of the best deals around. Yes, the cruise lines have added a fuel charge to help offset the high prices, but this is only about an additional $50 a week. Cruise ships burn thousands of gallons of fuel each voyage, so an additional $50 per person is not much in comparison.  Because pricing is locked in when you book, other price increases are not felt by the traveler (such as increases in food costs, etc.).

Don’t let today’s economy prevent you from traveling. It just takes a little looking around to find that great deal.

Internet Marketing

header8.jpg

There is something you should know that is of vital importance.

“Throughout history, millions of people of average intelligence and education, or even less than that, started with nothing and created wonderful lives…  That’s because the universe is neutral and knows nothing about your background.  It rewards whoever follows certain rules that have been shown over and over to produce results. The truth is most people can achieve whatever they want.  Lot’s of smarter, but more skeptical people don’t try and remain unsuccessful.”

Brian Tracy – Success Magazine

Facts:

What you are about to read effects our lives one way or another.  The key is, knowing where to find the answer.

  • 60% of American families are living at or just above poverty level.  That’s over 140 million people in the United States alone.
  • Over 1.7 million jobs were cut last year.  Are you the next number on the list?
  • Only 1 in 5 mothers is a “Stay at home Mom.”  Nearly half of the working mothers are single mothers working two jobs.
  • 1 out of every 5 parents works 2 jobs.  74% of the children in the U.S.  are cared for by people other than their parents.  What does the future hold for our children?

What is the Answer???

What if your spouse lost the ability to go to work tomorrow?  How long would it be before you lost everything you own?

Think about it!

After 40 years of working at age 65:

  • 29% are dead
  • 63% depend on family and social security
  • 4% are financially secure
  • 3% are still working
  • 1% are wealthy

What’s the answer? It’s time to take control!

How?

How did the wealthy 1% do it?

The answer: 74% owned their own business.

The Internet and e-commerce offer the ultimate leverage for you to start your very own business.

Fortune Magazine:

“Out of the 40 richest people under 40, over half made their fortune on the Internet.  Believe it our not, You Could Too.”

Imagine:

Now imagine owning a profitable home based business that you could start today without:

  • Technical know how
  • Large capital investment or overhead
  • Jeopardizing your current career
  • Any of the headaches of owning a traditional business

Where you could earn a life changing income, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week… even while you sleep.

Running a Home Based Business

header19.jpg

Travel Business Plus offers a home or Internet based online travel business opportunity that allows you to earn commissions on flights, hotels, cars, cruises, concerts, shows, theater, musicals and sporting event tickets.   We also bring you additional information such as….

Running a Home Based Business

Set Boundaries:

Setting clear boundaries and carving out time for your work is the key to being a well balanced home based entrepreneur.  Running a home based business is easy.  The hard part is devoting at a minimum 30 minutes every day consistently for up to 6 months to get your business to develop momentum.  See people put in 30 minutes here and hour there don’t see any results and they get frustrated and quit. If you take a look at any business you need to invest 2-5 YEARS for that business to turn a profit!  You should treat your home based business no different.

Structure is Essential:

Yes, not having to wear a suit everyday, be in the office by 8:00 am and be chained to your desk until 5 or 6 pm is an awesome feeling and possibly the reason you started your home based business in the first place.  My office is about 15 feet away from my bed and it’s sure nice going to work in my pajamas.  But structuring your day in a way that works for you is really important, especially with all the potential home based business distractions like spouses, children, house work, and personal phone calls.

Establishing structure will not only help you be disciplined and get your work done, it will also help the people around you know when you’re available–and when you’re not. If you’re running a business from home, communicate which hours are for work, and which areas of your home are work zones.

Do you love to Travel?

Have you ever thought about starting a home based business? Does the idea of making a commission on travel sound appealing? Airline Luggage Fees

airport-luggage-14.jpg

Airline Luggage Fees

Are Airlines getting carried away with luggage fees?

Laura and I recently took a vacation and we were shocked when we went to check in our luggage.   Laura and I flew US Air.  Their policy for checked luggage as of July 1st is this: $15 for your first checked bag, $25 for the second checked bag and $100 for bag 3-9.  Bags weighing 51-70 lbs is $50 and bags weighing 71-99 lbs is $100.  It was embarrassing, people where actually at the gate shifting their personal belongings from one bag to another to even out weight.  It shouldn’t make any difference that one bag is 45 lbs and the other bag is 55 lbs.  It’s just another way for these airlines to get additional dollars out of the traveler and in my opinion it’s ridiculous.

Does all this make your head spin?  Well I wanted to scream!  Our checked luggage bill was $105.00.

Here is a Tip:

When comparing airfare you also need to keep in mind what your checked luggage bill will be.  Because when booking your flight online, you may think you are saving money, but with your luggage it could cost you more.  There are some airlines that DO NOT charge for your first and second bag.  One airline I will mention is Southwest Airlines.  Southwest Airlines, I applaud you!  With Southwest you are allowed to carry on one personal item, one bag and they do not charge you for your first two pieces of luggage.  I will fly Southwest Airlines any time I can even if the rate is slightly higher, because I know that I will not have to deal with the issue of an additional charge when checking in luggage.

You can search Google for additional luggage tips.

Job Burnout

job-burnout_0.jpg

Job Burnout

Are you burned out with your job or your current business? Is it a struggle to wake up and just go into work only to experience the same old routine but just a different day?

You may be wondering:

What are the signs of burnout?

Ask yourself these questions to see if you’re experiencing signs and symptoms of burnout:

  • Do you find yourself being more cynical, critical and sarcastic at work?
  • Have you lost the ability to experience joy?
  • Do you drag yourself into work and have trouble getting started once you arrive?
  • Have you become more irritable and less patient with co-workers, customers or clients?
  • Do you feel that you face insurmountable barriers at work?
  • Do you feel that you lack the energy to be consistently productive?
  • Do you no longer feel satisfaction from your achievements?
  • Do you have a hard time laughing at yourself?
  • Are you tired of your co-workers asking if you’re OK?
  • Do you feel disillusioned about your job?
  • Are you self-medicating — using food, drugs or alcohol — to feel better or to simply not feel?
  • Have your sleep habits or appetite changed?
  • Are you troubled by headaches, neck pain or lower back pain?

Take action?

If you feel you may have signs or symptoms of burnout don’t ignore them. Like stress burnout can have significant health consequences including fatigue, insomnia, weight gain or loss. It has the potential to put some people at increased risk of depression, anxiety and other emotional difficulties. And working in an environment that negatively affects your physical and mental health can affect your personal life.

Recovery from burnout is possible, but it may require changes and take time, so don’t expect a quick fix. Keep an open mind and consider all your options. Don’t let a demanding job affect your health.

The Secret to Success:

“You can only become truly accomplished at something you love.  Don’t make money your goal. Instead, pursue things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can’t take their eyes off you?

-Maya Angelou, poet, writer, speaker

Travel Tips

header_75.jpg

Travel Business Plus is a home based online travel business opportunity that allows you to earn commissions on flights, hotels, cars, cruises, concerts, shows, theater, musicals and sporting event tickets.   We also bring you additional information such as….

TRAVEL TIPS

  • Try traveling with a simple, rubber door-stop. It can stop intruders in their tracks. It’s inexpensive, light to pack and gives you the peace of mind to sleep well. The main door to your room usually has a good lock and peephole; some also supply a bar chain. But, if there is an adjoining room, that door usually has a fairly flimsy lock. The doorstop is especially useful in those situations.
  • Try taping a foot-long piece of duct tape around a pencil to stick in your bag. It can fix so many things. If a strap on a sandal snaps or a purse handle breaks, it is duct tape to the rescue!
  • Store all liquid products like shampoo, hairspray, etc. in zip lock baggies when packing. Many of these items can explode easily (some may explode from the high altitudes of flying) and the baggies will protect your other items.
  • Foot problems are a painful part of the frequent-flyer lifestyle. Long hours of walking in airports, through convention halls or on uneven surfaces can lead to blisters. Band-aids often slip off toes and heels, so try packing thin moleskin instead. Buy the soft self-adhesive sheets at a grocery or drugstore, cut them into small squares and keep them in your purse or briefcase. If your shoe starts to rub, cover the area right away before it turns into a nasty blister.
  • Make at least 2 photo-copies of each and every travel document that you have: Driver’s License; itinerary, passport, etc. Give one set to a family member at home and keep one set in your purse or bag (separate from the originals). This is in case your originals are lost or stolen.
  • If you are visiting a theme park/amusement park and you plan on riding the water attractions, pack extra dry socks for the family in a large zip lock bag. You can switch out the wet socks for the dry ones after riding.
  • Bring a small flashlight. You never know when you’ll suddenly be “in the dark” and find yourself in unfamiliar surroundings. At night, keep your flashlight by your bed.
  • Do not flash your passport in public. Discreetly show important documents to officials only.
  • Always bring a pair of flip flops (or thongs). You never know when you may need some temporary “shower shoes.”

You can search Google for additional travel tips.

Travel Deals - Be Flexible

header_75.jpg

Travel Business Plus is a home based online travel business opportunity that allows you to earn commissions on flights, hotels, cars, cruises, concerts, shows, theater, musicals and sporting event tickets.   We also bring you additional information such as….

Travel Deals, Be Flexible and Act Fast.

With the price of gas and oil prices on the rise, airlines will be looking for ways to pass these increased costs on to the traveler.  The average airfare costs increased more than 14% in the past year and even more for certain areas according to the Labor Statistics.  There will even be more pain when airlines start cutting flights later this year.  Airlines have already started hitting the travel for additional fees such as charging for checked bags, charging for peanuts, one airlines charging for a bottle of water.  Pretty soon there will be a dollar dispenser to get into the bathroom.

But even with all this, the Deals are out there!!!  You just need to look hard, stay flexible and act fast.  With the high fuel costs and slowing economy, travel companies have to be aggressive to keep you traveling.  Whether its hotels, airlines or cruise ships, seats and rooms need to be filled!  Remember this, yesterdays vacancies can not be sold tomorrow.

So let’s take a look at what you need to do:

Act Fast:

Airlines have announced that they are reducing fleets later this year, starting in September, so travelers will be competing for fewer seats. So if you see a good price, a price that you can afford, don’t think, Act.  If you click away from that price and go back to it later chances are that the deal will have gone to someone else.

Consider Different Destinations:

If you have to get away and prices are an issue, then re-think your destination. Airfares to New York are up about 23% this summer over last summer, versus a 7% rise on airfares to Seattle.  Airfares to Bahamas are up 14% while those to US Virgin Islands are down almost 3%.  So consider different travel options.

Plan Ahead:

Common sense airlines will hammer you financially for last minute travel.  Some industry watchers see prices rising hirer, others aren’t sure.  Still, planning ahead is often a better strategy then waiting till last minute. Most of us know where we will be spending Thanksgiving and Christmas and yet some still wait.  If you know right now book now, www.vacationdeals247.com.

Time Your Search:

Start looking for deals in the middle of the week.  That’s when airlines start posting their web specials.  Weekends are the worst.

Time Your Stay:

Timing is everything.  Mid week is the better for traveling, chances are you would have fewer leisure travelers.  If you destination if frequented by business travelers, check different days to find the best pricing.

Date Flexibility:

Being able to be flexible on travel dates is a plus.  A good way to find the cheapest fares is to plug in a date, then compare that price with the fare for travel two weeks later and again two weeks later than that.  Avoid Sunday travel and if possible go in September and October versus July or August.  Most kids are out of school and families are taking vacations.  Airlines know this and price their fares accordingly.

Consider Cruises:

Cruising is the way to go.  Talk about the value versus dollar.  But the cruise lines are feeling the pinch of rising fuel costs too.  There are a lot of good deals out there.  Also keep in mind European Cruises.  They can help offset the brutal effects of the dollar to euro ratio.  There are plenty of deals to find out there.

You can search Google for additional travel tips.
